High-performance cabin air filters now come as standard

Perfectly timed to coincide with the current coronavirus, Ford recently announced the launch of a new cabin air filter option on many of its most popular vehicles. Innovated together with Freudenberg Filtration Technologies, the new Ford micronAir proTect cabin air filter is highly effective at capturing germs, allergens and viruses that can cause significant health problems.

The enhanced filtration concept includes an activated carbon layer together with a special bio-functional layer impregnated with fruit extracts. This provides almost 100 percent protection against bacteria, yeast and fungi, as well as offering antiviral properties.

All-round protection

The new cabin air filter provides reliable protection from numerous irritants that may enter the vehicle. Nigel Brackenbury, Vice President Ford Customer Service Division Europe explained: “For many drivers and their passengers, pollen and dust allergies can cause great discomfort as well as serious health problems. This filter is a low-cost but effective measure that could protect health and provide greater comfort for anyone traveling in a Ford vehicle.”

Ford has been widely promoting its new micronAir proTect cabin air filter and is the first European car manufacturer to launch an anti-viral solution. Ford dealers are already supplying and fitting the filter, which is available for the Focus, Kuga, Mondeo, SMAX and Galaxy. It can also be ordered for the Fiesta, Puma and EcoSport, as well as Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier models.
