In the next few decades, our economy will undergo the greatest transformation since the invention of the steam engine. The consequences of global warming are already being felt today and a radical reduction in global emissions with the goal of net zero emissions is necessary to counteract this development. This requires a gradual restructuring of our economy.

This includes cutting our use of energy and materials in production as well as reducing scrap and emissions. We also want to ensure a positive handprint by creating products that facilitate greater efficiency and climate-friendly processes for our customers.

Generating electricity with renewable energies is an essential pillar of sustainable business. Electricity is still responsible for the majority of emissions at Freudenberg Filtration Technologies, and so over the last few years we have been gradually switching to an energy supply from renewable sources. These sources include solar installations on our production buildings as well as direct sourcing from regional wind and solar farms. We will obtain around 30 percent of our required energy from renewable sources by 2025 and the electricity we use will be completely climate-neutrally sourced by 2039 at the latest. Combining these measures with regular process optimization and minimal use of resources will soon allow us to save a large proportion of our emissions and contribute to greater sustainability.
